Five Shells, and What Each One Does to the Jacket

The shell decides the hand-feel, the drape and how the jacket wears. Pick it for the style you are building, then lock the exact cloth on the quote.

    Nylon

Light, smooth and dry to the touch. The packable shell behind bombers and windbreakers.

Best forBomber · Windbreaker · Puffer

  • 02

    Cotton twill

Woven with a visible diagonal grain. Structured and hard-wearing, and it softens with washing.

    Denim

Durable cotton that fades and creases with wear, so each piece ages its own way.

Fill & lining

Warmth Is Decided by the Fill, Not the Shell

The same shell ships unfilled or as a quilted puffer. Tell us the climate the jacket is going into and the fill is matched on the quote.

What goes wrong

Five Things Buyers Get Burnt By, and Who Here Fixes Them

None of these are solved by a better quote. They are solved by owning the process — so the row on the right names the department that fixes it.

The problem

Samples that fit the fit model but not your own size chart, and no one to re-grade them.

Inside our factory

Patterns are built to your own measurements in-house, so every size in the run matches the one you approved.

Pattern room

The problem

Colours that drift between the swatch you signed off and the bulk that arrives.

Inside our factory

The shade is matched and approved before a single panel is cut, and the approved lot is kept on file.

Fabric & colour lab

The problem

Weeks lost waiting for the first sample, then more weeks for every fit correction.

Inside our factory

The first prototype is sewn in our own sample workshop, not queued behind another brand’s order, and the fit revisions are built into the schedule.

Sample workshop

The problem

Launch dates the factory cannot actually hit, discovered too late to move the drop.

Inside our factory

Dates are set stage by stage, and drop or pop-up deadlines get priority scheduling on the line.

Production floor

The problem

Bulk arriving with fabric flaws, skipped stitches and hardware that pulls out.

Inside our factory

Inspection starts before cutting and continues in-process and at the bench, so flaws are caught before the order is packed.

How we work

Seven Steps, Every One of Them in Our Own Factory

No stage is subcontracted out. Each is dated on the quote, so you know what happens next before you commit to a sample.

  1. Technical flat sketches of several jacket silhouettes — hooded shells, a quilted style and a button-front coat

    Concept review

Send a sketch, a mood board, a tech pack or a reference jacket. We review it and fix the design direction in writing.

    Design studio

  2. Finished quilted patchwork jacket hanging beside flat pattern sketches of jacket fronts

    Pattern & fabric

The block is drafted and graded to your size chart, and the shell, lining and trims are matched to your spec.

    Pattern room

  3. Calico toile jacket pinned on a dress form in the sample workshop

    Prototype

The first jacket is cut and sewn by the sample team and sent for your sign-off — 7–10 working days after files lock.

    Sample workshop

  4. Hands adjusting the shoulder seam of a calico toile jacket on a dress form

    Fit revision

Fit and detail corrections are worked through in 3–5 rounds, until the tech pack is sealed.

    Sample workshop

  5. Fitter measuring a folded garment with a tape measure at a cutting table

    Pre-production inspection

Fabric, zips, snaps and fill are inspected on our floor before anything is cut.

    QC bench

  6. Folded knit garments stacked on a table on the production floor

    Mass production & multi-stage QC

The run is cut and sewn on our lines, checked in-process and to AQL 2.5 before dispatch.

    Production floor

  7. Polybagged garments stacked beside open kraft cartons on the packing line

    Packing & global shipment

Labels, hangtags and packaging go on, then the order ships DDP, DAP or DPU to your door.

Four-Season Urban Outdoor Jacket Collection

US & EU

Pain point

  • This mid-sized EU urban outdoor brand needed puffer, softshell and hooded four-season jackets all from a single supplier.
  • They required shell, fill and lining materials sourced and finished by one factory, locked to a firm retail launch timeline.
  • New style test runs were limited to 100 pcs per colour, making supply fragmentation risky and hard to standardise QC across multiple jacket silhouettes.

Solution

  • We source and pre-inspect all fabrics in-house.
  • One dedicated pattern team develops all three jacket base blocks.
  • The seasonal production line is priority scheduled to meet the fixed drop date.
  • All styles share a unified tech pack framework and consistent QC criteria, shipped via consolidated DDP per seasonal release.

Benefit

  • 0 bulk quality complaints across 8 consecutive seasonal releases, 98% on-time delivery rate and 100% reorder retention for this outerwear series.
  • Annual order volume maintained at 3,500–5,000 pieces for retail testing and restocking.

Client review

“Having one factory handle shell, fill and lining simplified our whole seasonal launch workflow. Zero bulk issues and reliable on-time delivery helped us confidently roll out our four-season jacket line year after year.”

Limited Capsule Streetwear Jacket Collection

Australia

Pain point

  • This Australian boutique streetwear brand releases 4–6 limited capsule collections annually.
  • Their varsity and bomber jackets feature colour blocking, chenille patches and custom hardware.
  • They faced long hardware lead times, slow colour matching and tight sample approval windows that threatened their monthly limited-drop schedule with their old manufacturer.

Solution

  • We deliver low-MOQ custom hardware tooling.
  • Produce chenille patches strictly matching client artwork.
  • Complete lab-dip colour matching inside our in-house workshop to compress the pre-production timeline.

Benefit

  • Samples fully approved within 7–10 working days; mass production finished in 7–15 working days post sample sign-off.
  • Their new product launch efficiency improved by 40% compared with their previous supplier, supporting their regular monthly limited collection drops.

Client review

“The fast sampling and custom patch/hardware support perfectly fit our limited capsule release rhythm. We can turn creative concepts into sellable bomber and varsity jackets much faster now.”

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions About Custom Jacket Manufacturer

01Are you a factory or a trading company?

We are the factory. Pattern-making, sampling, cutting, sewing, QC and packing all happen at our own plant — you are not paying a middleman between you and the line.

Ask about our factory
02Can you make a jacket pattern from my sketches?

Yes. Send a sketch, a tech pack, a mood board or just a reference jacket; our pattern team drafts and grades it to your size chart and confirms it on a sample before bulk.

Send us a sketch
03What is your MOQ for custom jackets?

The minimum is 100 pcs per colour. Because sizes inside a colour may be mixed, the count is per colour rather than per size — three colourways is a 300-piece order in total.

Check how the minimum applies
04What does a custom jacket run cost?

The price follows what goes into the jacket rather than a fixed price list: the shell fabric and its weight, whether the fill is fleece, wadding or down-alternative, the hardware, the branding method, and how many pieces run per colour. Send the style and the quantity and the quote breaks out the unit cost, the sample and the freight separately.

Ask for a quote
05What does a sample cost, and is it credited?

Samples run $80–150 per style. Once the bulk order passes 500 pieces it is credited against the invoice; on a smaller first run the quote prices the sample as a one-off, so you see it before you commit.

Ask about sample credit
06How long from brief to delivered jackets?

After the tech pack locks, the first sewn piece takes 7–10 working days and the fit revisions 3–5. Bulk production follows in a 7–15 working day window, then transit: 5–7 days by air, 30–45 by sea. The drop is planned off dated stages on the quote.

Ask about lead times
07Who pays the import duty — DDP, DAP or DPU?

Under DDP we pay the duty and deliver to your door, so the price you agree is the price you pay. DAP and DPU deliver to your address with the import duty and taxes on your side, which suits buyers who already clear their own shipments. Tell us which one your business prefers and the quote is built on it.

Ask about freight terms
08How do you control quality on a bulk jacket run?

Fabric, zips, snaps and fill are inspected before anything is cut, the run is checked in-process on the line, and the packed order is held to AQL 2.5 at final inspection.

Ask about QC
09Can you match a specific colour?

Yes — we lab-dip to your Pantone reference and you approve the dip before any fabric is cut, then we hold the approved lot on file so a reorder matches.

Ask about colour matching
10Which compliance certificates do you hold?

OEKO-TEX 100, BSCI and GRS. Materials are also tested to EU and US regimes (REACH, CPSIA). Ask and the certificates travel with the quote.
