Yuying Zhu

Yuying Zhu is an apparel manufacturing veteran specializing in China’s apparel supply chain, with over 16 years building and managing global supply chains across three continents. She brings 10 years of apparel and textile trade experience, including 3 years as Purchasing Director and 2 years as Project Manager.

Complex apparel programs are led end-to-end, from the first tech pack development through final AQL 2.5 quality inspection. Her daily practice centers on fabric utilization optimization, fast prototyping turnaround, and raw material compliance for OEKO-TEX Standard 100. She works closely with design teams, pattern masters, fabric mills and garment factories to translate creative concepts into manufacturable products, mitigating common pitfalls such as fabric shrinkage, color deviation, fit inconsistencies and material certification gaps before they escalate into costly bulk production delays.

The work calls for balancing creative expectations with factory realities, negotiating lead times, controlling material waste, and enforcing consistent quality standards across multiple production facilities. Having overseen countless bulk runs for international apparel brands, she understands how seemingly minor details buried within product specifications can snowball into rework, shipment hold-ups or budget overruns once manufacturing gets underway. Her hands-on factory floor experience lets her spot these hidden risks early and deliver practical, actionable solutions to streamline apparel development and sourcing.
